ABOUT EDWU
Exquisite Divas Women United (“EDWU”) is a 501(c)(3), 509(a)(2) publicly funded non-profit
charitable organization whose mission is to facilitate the bonding of women of all ages in
sisterhood by promoting and encouraging the building of healthy relationships through spiritual
and physical restoration and empowerment leading to family stability.
To accomplish its mission, EDWU will focus on providing a variety of social and other support
services to mothers and children in the community(ies) it serves by offering counseling and
mentoring as well as community events. EDWU’s services are open to women of all backgrounds
– widow, single, divorced or married!
Founded by Jackie Perry Cooper, EDWU was initially established through her event planning and
decoration business, Exquisite Design and Events. Through her own personal challenges and by
meeting other women in similar circumstances, Jackie recognized that women take on many
responsibilities including the care of others and other issues that sometimes they forget to take care
of themselves. She realized how much she benefitted from having the support of family and friends
that she wanted to give more of herself and encourage others to do the same by focusing outside
of themselves and their own personal circumstances.

FUTURE GOALS |
A priority of EDWU is to secure its own facility to house its organization and future community events as well as to be a place where women and families can come to obtain shelter, aid, food, hair care and other supplies and services. EDWU will continue to host annual events such as its Ladies Night Out and other fundraisers.
Another goal is to strengthen its counseling and mentoring program and continue donating to other shelters in the community. |
